Estate Record of William Bryan

 In the name of God, Amen.  I William Bryan of the County of Kentucky being in low estate of health, but of sound mind and perfect memory (thank God) and calling to mind my mortality and to prevent dispute that arise after my Death to dispose of those earthly things with which it hath pleased God to Bless me to make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, Viz

Item     I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Bryan One Thousand acres land which I purchased of Sarah Bryan.  Lying between Cane River Run of the North Fork of Elkhorn Creek in Cairtucky County.  It being part of the settlement preemption one unto Sarah Bryan in the situation of raising a crop of corn in F. County of Kentucky in the year 1776 at the discretion of my wife to take which part of the land she pleases.  I also give unto my wife three Negroes to wit one woman named Debbery and 2 men named James and Cesar also four horses, one sorrel mare called Stallion and one Boy Colt out of amore called Bluestreak and all the household of kitchen. Furniture.  Plantation utensils and implements of husbandry ? to her and her heirs and and ? forver.

Item     I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Byran one Negro woman give to me from John Hawkins of the State of N. Carolina to him and his heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Bryan all the rest of my land not already given and one Negro man named Goern ? and one Sorrel stallion and all my Smith and Carpenters tools to him and his heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath to my daughter Phebe Bryan three horse ? now called hers and one boy named George and two cows called hers to her and her heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Bryan one Negro girl named Rachael and one boy mare called Jenas two cows now called hers to her and her heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Bryan one Negro girl named Jean and one young sorrel mare and one white heffer to her and her heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Bryan one mare colt out of amore called Blaze and one white heffer to her and her heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Bryan one boy mare colt out of amore called Jewel and one white heffer to her and her heirs and ? forever.

Item     All the money due to me from John Hawkins of the state of N. Carolina.  I give and bequeath unto my children Samuel, Daniel, Phebe, Hannah, Sarah, Elizabeth and Mary.  Share and share alike to them and their heirs and ? forever.

Item     I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary all thee remains of my stock of cattle, hogs and sheep to her and her heirs and ? forever,

Item     All the rest of my estate and already given of what kind so ever, I give to all my children, share and share alike to them and their heirs and ? forever.

            And lastly to appoint my beloved wife, Mary Bryan, my executrix and my two sons Samuel and Daniel Bryan executors to this my last will kindly revoking all former will or wills what so ever.  In witness thereof this William Bryan hath here unto set his hand and affixed his seal this Twenty Third day of May Anno Dom – one thousand seven hundred and eighty.
