Adm chrages himself as follows
To amount of process of sale of perishable property sold on 13th Dec 1864 for cash -
$38,942.75
which was in Confederate money.
To amt of the appraised value of Slaves and which were delivered to his heir at
law as for receipt on
file on 23 Dec 1864 - $90,000.00
To amt rec'd from execution of Moses Harris from sale of cotton - May 1866 - $1,486.00
Adm states that the land belonging to said estate is unsold and consist of about Fourteen
hundred acres.

Probate Court
The petition of the undersigned
respectfully showeth that he is the adm of Nehemiah L. Harris and that said intestate was
possessed of considerable property consisting of slaves, lands, stock <illegible>
that in his opinion <illegible> peitioner there is property sufficient to pay the
debts of said estate without a sale of the slaves that the estate is solvent. Adm
further states that it <illegible> of all parties concerned to divide the
slaves among the heirs at law that with the slaves
derived from the estate of his father. Recently, there are number of Forty, that
the said N. L. Harris was <illegible> and that his next of kin are Matthew H.
Harris, Mrs. Peter V. Guerry, his brother & sister, and John Head the only child
of a deceased sister who takes her share. All of whom reside in Macon Co Ala.
The said John Head Levey now in the Army in Va. all of them are of full age.
In consideration of the <illegible> from petition ask that Commissioners do
appointed to divide said slaves among said heirs at law and that such notice be given said
party and the law directs in such cases.

We the Commissioners appointed by the
Probate Judge of Macon County to make a true correct and impartial division of the Negroes
belonging to the estate of N. L. Harris des. amongst the heirs at law, to wit between
Mary L. Guerry, Matthew H. Harris, & John Head. Proceeded to make the
following division of said slaves after being first sworn to make a fair and impartial
division. These are as fairly as far as possible can divided <illegible> into
three parts and No. these 1. 2. & 3. and then drew lots.
Lot No. 1 was drawn by Mary E. Guerry and is composed of the
following slaves--
Freeman a man, Joshua a man, Mary and her children, and infant Margaret, Jim, George,
Asberry, & Pati, also Adaline & her children an infant, Francis, Charles, and
Young which lots was estimated at $30,000.
Lot No. 2 was drawn by Matthew H. Harris and embraces the following
slaves--
Aleck a man, Green a man, Bailey a young fellow, Fanny, Cherry, Eunia, Ann,
Sanford, Eliza, Edward, Mary Ella, Teucy, Heuny a blind boy, & Patunco which lot
was valued at $28,000.
Lot No. 3 was drawn by John Head or for him by his agents --and embraces
the following slaves--
George a man about fifty years of age, Charity his wife & her children, an
infant, Ella and Sophronia--Silva and her children, Phillis, John, Sarah Jane, & Tom
Jefferson which lot was valued at $29,000.
In order to make said Lots
equal in value Lot No. 1 agreed to pay Lot No. 2 the sum of $1,000--
