The Mount Gilead AME Cemetery
Buckingham, Pennsylvania
(Bucks County)


The Mount Gilead Cemetery is located on a high mountain top in the Holicong section of Buckingham, Pennsylvania.  The cemetery is attached to the Mount Gilead African Methodist Episcopal Church which was erected in 1834 by the local African-American residents.

Over the years, the cemetery site has been vandalized; tombstones have been removed and some have been damaged. 

Transcription of this cemetery was previously documented and given to the Bucks County Historical Society for preservation. Original Transcription labeled as BCHS Document Code:  MSC 166, Fol. 26

During early February 2000, the cemetery was revisited. An updated document has been submitted to the BCHS for the cemetery archives.
