Obituaries
LOVERN, Rev. Walter E., 75, a resident of Wetumpka, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2000 at the Long Term Care Hospital at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. The funeral was Sunday, Feb. 27, from Cubahatchie Baptist Church in Shorter. Rev. Otis Taylor and Rev. Jim Glaze officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Rev. Lovern was the pastor of Cubahatchie Baptist Church for 18 1/2 years. Survivors include wife, Belle Lovern, Wetumpka; one daughter, Brenda (Billy) Chambliss, Montgomery; two grandchildren, Cindy (Billy) Jordan and Wendy (Howard) Stern, both of Mongtomery; four great-grandchildren, Justin and Jennifer Jordan and Sean and Shelby Stern. PRUITT, Magdalen "Maggie", a
resident of Tallassee, died Tuesday, Feb. 8 2000 in Community Hospital in Tallassee. The
funeral was Friday, Feb. 11 at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Tallassee with Rev. Norman
Douglas officiating. Burial followed in Oak Valley Cemetery with People's Funeral Home
staff directing. She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Florence Williams and
Lillie Buck Hanon, both of Tallassee; one brother Artie (Nellie) Rogers of Tallassee; one
aunt, Annie Scroggins of Tuskegee; a dear and devoted friend, Annie Madison of Tuskegee,
and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Tuskegee News,

RICHARDSON, Pearlie C., was born in Elmore County, Ala. in 1862. He was the
son of Monroe and Annoce Richardson. He joined the church at an early age. He
was a faithful member until failing health. He was married to Miss Nancy L. Cook.
To this union ten children were born. He departed this life May 21, 1965,
John A. Hospital, Tuskegee Institute, Ala. He leaves to mourn his loss a daughter,
Mrs. Mary A. Tyner, Tuskegee; four sons, Mr. Miren L. Richardson, Leeds, Ala, ; Mr.
Alexander Richardson, Albany, NY; Mr. Grant and Theodore Richardson, Wetumpka; a
brother-in-law, a son-in-law, Mr. John H. Tyner, Tuskegee; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ola
Richardson, Tuskegee; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces and
