| DANIEL, James, a resident of Tallassee, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2000. The funeral was Friday, March 3, from McKenzie's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Andrews officiating. Burial was in Sweet Canaan Cemetery. McKenzie's Funeral Home staff directed. His survivors include two daughters, Carol (Eddie, Sr.) Thomas, Shorter and Pamela Daniel, Tallassee; one sister, Gloria (Willie) Johnson, Tallassee, three brothers; Joseph (Virginia) Daniel, Tuskegee; Robert (Geraldine) Daniel, Tallassee, and Lester Hicks, Jr. Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The Tuskegee News, March 16, 2000 DARDEN, Sarance H. Jr., a resident of Tuskegee Institute, died Sunday, July 30, 2000. Services were Saturday, Aug. 5 from St. John AME Zion Church with Rev. Brenda E. Jones officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery with Peoples' Funeral Home Staff directing. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Lee Darden, Tuskegee Institute; one son, Sarance, III, Tuskegee Institute; two daughters, Ynetta D. Johnson, Oklahoma City, OK and Clara D. Biner, Tuskegee Institute; one sister, Otelia W. Maroney, Mt. Vernon, NY; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The Tuskegee News, August 10, 2000, Page A-5 DAVIS, Howard Dr., former Tuskegee University athletic director, died Thursday, May 20, 1999 in Greene County, AL. The funeral for Dr. Davis was held Thursday, May 27 from Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA with interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, C College Park, GA. Rev. Douglas Childers and Rev. Cynthia Harris officiated. Dr. Davis was born May 5, 1930 in Westville, SC. He attended Mather Academy from where he graduated in 1950. He later graduated from Allen University in Columbia, SC with a major in health, physical education and recreation, and a minor in general science. He was married to the devoted Eunice Ware Davis. In addition to his loving wife, Dr. Davis also leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Toddy (Misty) Davis, MD, Chicago, IL; Scott Davis, Jackson, MS; daughters, Mrs. Carolyn (DePriest) Waddy, Marietta, GA; Kiah (Edward) Mitchell, MD, Fayetteville, GA; Ms. Shawn Davis, St. Louis, MO; Mrs. Ericka (LaTroy) Thomas, Des Moines, Iowa; Cheryl (Marcus) Wharry, PhD, Columbus, GA; a brother, Jason (Tina) Davis, Raleigh, NC; sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Payne, Twin Oaks, PA; and Mrs. Helen (Neil) Moore, Detroit, MI; loving aunts, Mrs. Stella Paulin and Mrs. Easter Harris, Washington, DC; five grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Tuskegee News, June 22, 2000 DURHAM, Mr. William Marvin, 67, of Tallassee, died Jan. 16, 2000 at the Pensacola Health Care Facility in Pensacola, FL. The funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 19 at the Ramose Presbyterian Church in Franklin. Rev. Don Stephens officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Wynona C. Durham, Tallassee; three sons, William Durham, Jr., and Jeff Durham, both of Tallassee, and Ronnie Durham of Ft. Walton, Fl.; two daughters, Elaine Duckett, Millbrook, and Karon Hammonds, Tallassee; nine grandchildren; his mother, Annie Lou Durham, Tallassee, four sisters, Mary Ruth Hornsby, Notasulga; Rosa Mae Jones, Jacksonville, FL, Anita Floyd, Tuskegee, and Joyce Wood, Tallassee; and one brother, William Ray Durham, Tallassee.
